Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Guided Intelligence

Answers to common questions about health and disability audit compliance, software implementation, data security, and how Guided Intelligence supports audit teams.

What is NZS 8134:2021 and which providers does it apply to?

NZS 8134:2021 (Ngā Paerewa Health and Disability Services Standard) is the New Zealand standard for health and disability services. It applies to aged residential care facilities, rest homes, hospitals, dementia care units, and other health and disability service providers operating in New Zealand. The standard replaced NZS 8134:2008 and includes enhanced focus on Te Tiriti o Waitangi, cultural safety, and consumer rights.

How does Guided Intelligence support designated auditing agencies?

Guided Intelligence provides designated auditing agencies with standardised digital workbooks mapped to health and disability compliance standards — currently NZS 8134:2021 — ensuring consistency across auditor teams. It supports structured evidence capture, reduces review friction through clear traceability, and maintains audit quality through controlled draft generation. All outputs remain under auditor control and require professional sign-off before finalisation.

Does Guided Intelligence make audit determinations?

No. Guided Intelligence does not make audit determinations or compliance decisions. All attainment ratings, findings, and compliance assessments must be made by qualified auditors. The platform structures evidence and generates draft report content based on auditor input, but professional judgement and final sign-off remain entirely with the auditor.

How is audit data secured?

Audit data is encrypted in transit and at rest as a baseline security measure. Access is controlled through role-based permissions aligned to audit team structure (admin, lead auditor, auditor, reviewer). Audit-level controls prevent unauthorized access, and access events can be logged for audit visibility. No client data is shared externally or used for model training without explicit agreement.

Where is audit data hosted?

Customer audit data is hosted in Australia or New Zealand regions to keep healthcare information within trusted jurisdictions. The specific hosting region can be confirmed for each deployment based on organisational requirements and data sovereignty preferences.

Is Guided Intelligence currently in use?

Guided Intelligence is currently being implemented in partnership with DAA Group to support structured audit reporting aligned to NZS 8134:2021. The implementation focuses on practical consistency, clearer traceability, and stronger audit defensibility within existing audit governance processes. A broader pilot programme is planned for late July 2026.

What compliance standards does Guided Intelligence support?

Guided Intelligence is built for health and disability audits across New Zealand. Current implementation covers NZS 8134:2021 (Ngā Paerewa Health and Disability Services Standard), with additional health and disability frameworks planned for release soon. The workbook structure is designed to be mapped to sector-specific accreditation frameworks, internal governance standards, or custom compliance structures as the platform expands.

How long does pilot implementation take?

Pilot implementation typically follows a structured 6-8 week sequence: initial discovery and process mapping, workbook configuration aligned to your standards, user provisioning and training, first audit run with scoped support, and review of outcomes and expansion readiness. Timeline may vary based on organisational complexity and governance requirements.

How does Guided Intelligence handle Te Tiriti o Waitangi requirements within the audit workbook?

The audit workbooks include specific sections mapped to Te Tiriti o Waitangi requirements within health and disability compliance standards. In the current NZS 8134:2021 workbooks, this includes criteria related to Māori health workforce, cultural safety, and recognition of mana motuhake. Evidence capture fields prompt auditors to document cultural safety practices, Te Tiriti embedding, and support for Māori aspirations as required by the standard.

Does Guided Intelligence submit reports to the Ministry of Health?

No. Guided Intelligence does not submit reports directly to the Ministry of Health or any regulatory authority. Reports are exported in agreed formats for auditor review and manual submission through existing governance processes. The platform maintains audit records and traceability but does not interact with external regulatory systems.
